Cast

Jackline Boateng helped act the part of the male protagonist. Despite the fact that she is female it worked out well for us because the male protagonist in the film opening did not need to be seen but we had to use her just to file the opening.

Janet Kamara is playing the female protagonist. She will be acting as the person you see in the beginning of the clip. Janet was a friend of mine who helped us out because we in desperate need of an actress and she volunteered to help us.

Challenges and Improvements

CHALLENGES
1. We were unable to film in the evening (during the dark)as we had other commitements, however when editing we dimmed the lighting to a darker shade to give off a more mysterious effect.
2. Timing - there was very limited time and we had to find a new cast and new location but despite the pressure it was still fairly sucessful, although there is always room for improvements.
3. Feedback- we were given positive criticism by our classmates and they suggested queit a few improvements e.g (holding the camera steady)but most of these suggetsions came a little to late.
4. Editing -when editing we had to test various video effects and video transitions and attempt to make them fit in with our film , it was basically a case of trail and error, at first we added a slow motion effect near the end of the opening but the transition to it didnt quite work out well so we had to increase the amount of slow motion used in order for it to blend together.
5. camera shot : close up -in our film opening there was a point where the camera zoomed in on the charcters mobile phone however we had trouble seeing the text on the phone,so the end of the opening the scene was changed and instead we had a close-up of a hand (damiens hand ) picking up the mobile phone.

Location Photos

This is the bush at which the female protagonist emerges .This is to show she was hiding from the person who is chasing after her.

The three pictures above are pictures of the area. In the actual opening scene it will not be so light as we may have to film during the evening or add particular video effects.

Changes made . . .

When filming we realised that certain shots that we had planned on doing in the film were quiet complicated, therefore we had to make a few changes and as a result our film slightly diverted from the storyboard and shooting script, for example the shooting script stated that the first camera shot would be a tracking shot of the protagonists shoes while running , this was also drawn in the first box of the story board but when filming we found it difficult to actually do this without the shot looking messy, so instead we did an establishing shot to show the audience the surroundings (mise en scene).
Although we mentioned that the title of the film would show up on the screen first along with mysterious music we were actually unable to do this as we learnt all music had to be copyright free and when it came to filming we decided to use the establishing shot then show the credits using a video transition known as ‘dip to black’ to link the credits with the opening of the film.
The reason we had to make so much changes in such little time is due to the loss of one of the girls in or group who no longer takes the course, we had planned to use her garden and her friends as the actors and actresses in our film but this was no longer possible and as a result we had to make quick decisions about a new location and a new set of actors.
We also had to make a few changes to the actors’ costume.

Analysis of the questionnaire.

Introduction
This questionnaire was aimed at finding out peoples opinion on THRILLER movies they were encouraged to complete as much questions as they could . and were asked to state their name ,gender and age group.

Aims & Objectives of the research

· Find out peoples views on thriller movies
· To find out what thriller films people have watched recently
· To find out whether thriller was a common genre
· To find out the main age group which thriller movies appealed to.
· To find out how often people watched thriller movies

Methodology
We used open and closed questions, there were 20 questionnaires given out.

Findings
From the feed back we got from our questionnaire we discovered that the age group that were more prone to watching thriller films was 17- 21. When we asked them to describe their personal interest in watching thriller movies the majority of them appeared to not watch thrillers
When asked to list 3 thriller movies they have watched most could only name one or none suggesting that thriller films do not appeal to them as much.
Most thought that crime, horror and action went well with thriller movies compared to other genres such as romance and cowboy, majority of the respondents did not consider thriller as their favourite genre and had alternatives.
When respondents were asked who they think thriller movies appealed to most said young and middle aged people who enjoy suspense and a good scare.
